Warren Carey dismissed the doldrums with an emphatic win on Thursday.

Wazza rediscovered his touch with an excellent +4 on the back nine to claim a comfortable win in the par competition.

John Dixon rolled back the years by finishing second with a respectable +2, just ahead of Neil Howard  who took third with +1.

There was a six-way tie for fourth, with Phil Sellers, Richard Pearson, Lloyd Moyle, Jim McMullan, Paul Tunnicliff and Roma Elkington all playing to their handicap in coming in with a 0 score.

Another six players - Mick Leggett, Heather Carey, Grant Fergusson, Ali Mawby, Barry Mitchell and Paul McCrae - recorded -1 in what was a healthy field who enjoyed perfect autumn conditions.

Surprisingly, no-one scored a two and the hidden hole was not struck.

Next week (May 4) the Golden Oldies play an Irish stableford off the back nine.
