Golden Oldies results for 28/3/24

Phil Sellers left it late before securing top spot in the Golden Oldies’ latest match of the day on Thursday.

A birdie on No 17 – which was worth four points – saw him finish on 21 points for the back nine and pip John Dixon and Noel Shaw who were already in the clubhouse on 20 points hoping no-one was going to pass them.

Barry Rhodes, Richard Pearson and Terry Kelso shared fourth on 19 points, with Barry also birdieing No 17 and Richard shooting an excellent 39 off the stick which included a two on No 14.

Michael Doyle, Ian Hanford, Trevor Atkinson and Bryan Ramsey played to their handicap in posting 18 points each in excellent golfing conditions.

Neil Howard scored the only other two of the day, also on No 14. The hidden hole was not struck.

Next week (April 4) the Golden Oldies play a par round off the back nine, while our Old Hickory team is in action at Motueka.
