A fast start and a strong finish saw Lloyd Moyle win the Golden Oldies match of the day on Thursday.
Playing off a 10 handicap for the front nine, Lloyd parred the first two holes and crucially the last two to total 46 points in the Irish stableford competition.
It was just good enough to pip Phil Sellers who came in with 45 points.
Maurice Woodhouse, helped by a birdie two at No 5, took third with 43 points.
There was a three-way tie between Roma Elkington, Noel Shaw and Paul McCrae for fourth after they each posted 40 points.
Five golfers comprising Ali Mawby, Ray Hopgood, Martin Lubransky, Paul Tunnicliff (who slotted a two at No 2) and Bryan Ramsey were next on 38.
Next Thursday (Feb 5) the Golden Oldies play a stableford off the front nine.
