Defending champion Noel Shaw is in the box seat to retain the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy after winning a re-scheduled round four on Thursday.
The Golden Oldies convenor – already holding a healthy lead after four of six rounds – shot a net 34 off the back nine to strengthen his hold with just one round to go.
Playing off a 13-handicap for the nine holes, he was the only one to score under his handicap despite the sunny conditions.
Richard Pearson and Lloyd Moyle shared second with 36 apiece.
They were followed by Mark Sherlaw (37), Maurice Woodhouse (38), and the trio of Grant Fergusson, Roma Elkington and Mick Leggett who all came in with 39.
Phil Sellers, Mick, Maurice and Grant divided up a dwindling twos pool after grabbing one each.
Next week (July 6) the Golden Oldies play a stableford round off the back nine.
