Golden Oldies results for 6/3/25

Michael Doyle and Paul Tunnicliff shone on a spectacular autumn day.

They shared the honours in the Simplicity Funerals Golden Oldies match of the day, which was a par round off the front nine.

Michael - who was playing off a 20 handicap - and Paul - who was off a 6 - both posted excellent +5 scores in the sunshine.

Paul's round was notable for birdie twos at both par threes. He shared the twos kitty with Lloyd Moyle who also grabbed one at No 2.

Third alone was Andrew Dean on +3 on a day of good scoring.

Five golfers - Lloyd, Trevor Atkinson, Stuart Hurst, Alan McWilliam and Jim McMullan - tied for fourth on +2.

Next were Paul McCrae, Dick Carter, Tom Kennedy and Warren Carey on +1, while John Shaw and Phil Sellers finished on 0.

Next Thursday (March 13) the Golden Oldies play the second round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy, which is a net round off the back nine.
