Graham Gault had double reason to celebrate on Thursday (April 6).

Playing off a 12 handicap for the front nine, he amassed an impressive 22 stableford points in comfortably winning the match of the day. It was an excellent performance on a day of comparatively high scoring on a course lengthened by recent rain and with the greens recently renovated.

He followed this up by taking home one of the raffle prizes in the clubhouse afterwards.

Tom Kennedy finished second with a creditable 19 points., while the trio of Brian Clinton, Andrew Dean and Paul Tunnicliff shared third after coming in with 18 points apiece.

They were followed by Warren Green (17) and a group of five - Lindsay Brooks, John Dixon, Maurice Woodhouse, Ivan Guy and Terry Kelso - on 16 points each.

Terry Hemi celebrated his 70th birthday by finishing in the pack with 15 points.

There were no twos and the hidden hole was not struck.

Next Thursday (April 13) the Golden Oldies play the third round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy, which is a net round off the front nine.
