Golden Oldies results for 9/4/26

It was Roma Elkington's day to shine as he spread-eagled the large field to win the third round of the Polly Pearce Memorial Trophy.

On a cracker of an autumn morning, Roma played well below his 14 handicap  for the front nine to sign for a fabulous net 30.

This was three better than Mark Sherlaw who continued his good form with a 33 for second place.

Paul Tunnicliff claimed third with a neat 34.

Phil Sellers and Michael Doyle shared fourth with 35 apiece, while the foursome of Neil Howard, Peter Watson, Jack Denton and Ian Hanford played to their handicaps with 36 each.

Peter's 40 off the stick was the best gross of the day.

Surprisingly, no-one managed a two on the freshly cut and rolled greens, while the hidden hole (No 9) was not struck.

Next Thursday (April 16) the Golden Oldies play another round of the Worley Trophy, which will be a net plus putts round off the front nine.
