Richard Pearson's hot summer form continues as he won the second round of the Worley Trophy on Thursday.

Despite playing off a handicap of just three for the front nine, he shot an impressive net 35 which together with just 11 putts was good enough to finish on top in the net plus putts format.

After being rained off for two weeks, a big field of 38 entered the competition, with Phil Sellers (36 + 13) securing second.

Barry Mitchell (38 + 14) finished third, with John Gibbons, Chris Kenchington and Bryan Taylor sharing fourth.

Surprisingly, there were no twos and the hidden hole was not struck.

The Golden Oldies schedule has been tweaked because of the recent wet weather, with the first round of the Polly Pearce to be played next week (Feb 24) which is a net competition beginning off the front nine.
