Mick wins mixed vets

Mick Leggett went home with multiple prizes after mastering the mixed vets field on Wednesday (April 9).

A disappointingly small field teed off in ideal conditions on a Waahi Taakaro course softened by recent rain which affected the scoring.

Mick's 37 stableford points off the white tees was easily enough to get the job done. His round of 98  playing off a 27 handicap was boosted by a two at No 11 which earned him more loot. He also won nearest to the pin on No 2/11.to cap off a successful day.

Motueka's Peter Tudberry fiinished second with 34 points, while Lloyd Moyle claimed third with 33 points which also included a two on No 11.

Chris Louth took fourth on countback from Peter Watson after both posted 31 points. Peter recorded the best gross of the day, a 83.

Paul Tunnicliff also drained a two at No 11.

The straightest drive went to Heather Carey, while the longest drive was struck by Peter Watson. Lawrence Marwick of Greenacres was closest on No 5/14.
