Our Old Hickory team finished tied for third in the latest round of the inter-club competition played at Takaka on Thursday (Oct 14).

Barry Rhodes was one of just three golfers out of 42 golfers to play to their handicap on the Pohara course with its small and undulating greens. His 36 stableford points helped push Waahi Taakaro to 121 team points. He received solid support from Ian Hanford (29) and Phil Sellers and Rob Shand (both 28) on a day of generally low scoring. Graham Strickett (26) and Warren Green (24) were the non counters.

Unsurprisingly, the home team romped to victory with 138 points on the back of the top individual score of the day, 38 stablefords from John Solly. Motueka was a distant second on 123 points followed  by Waahi Taakaro and Totaradale on 121. Next were Greenacres (118) and  Nelson (117). Tasman took home the popgun with 113 points. Nelson's Bill Rooney scored the only two of the day.
