Our Old Hickory team put in a solid shift at Takaka to finish in a tie for third on Thursday (March 3).

Led by 34 stableford points from Barry Rhodes, we finished with a team score of 124. Other contributors were captain Ian Hanford (33), Bryan Ramsey (29) and Chris Kenchington (28).

Lloyd Patchett (26) and Phil Sellers (24) had days to forget.

Unsurprisingly, the home team won easily, with Warwick Dobbie (40) and Rob Miller (39) outstanding. Its total of 143 points was a massive 15 points better than Nelson and Totaradale who tied for second on 128. Next were Waahi Taakaro and Motueka on 124. They were followed by Tasman on 122. Greenacres took home the popgun after totalling a dismal 115 points.

Rob Dyce, Peter Nolan, Eric Satherley, Andrew Fenemor and our own Ian Hanford all scored twos, while Alan Tait was closest to the pin on No 3/12  and Rob Miller was closest on No 9/18.

The next round is at Nelson on April 7.
