Our Old Hickory team couldn't repeat last month's heroics but finished a respectable fourth at Tasman on Thursday (April 6).

Totaradale took home the trophy after pipping Tasman on their tricky home course.

Captain Ian Hanford and Richard Pearson lead our team effort with a solid 36 points each, while Mick Leggett and Graham Strickett provided the other counting scores with 30 points apiece. Barry Rhodes and Phil Sellers found it a bit tougher in finishing with 29 points each.

Dennis Hall - with 43 points which was the best individual score of the day - led his Totaradale team to victory.

They finished on a team total of 143 points. Tasman was second on ... points. Takaka claimed third on 134. Waahi Taakaro was next on 132. We were followed by Motueka (129) and Greenacres (119), while Nelson (112) took home the popgun for finishing last.

Surprisingly, there was only one two scored - by Robert Murray - on what was a good day for golf.

The next round is at Takaka on May 4.
