Old Hickory team on the up
Our Old Hickory team bounced back from some poor recent form to finish a creditable second at Motueka last Thursday (March 1).
Led by Paul Tunnicliff with 39 points and Tom Kennedy with 37 points, Waahi Taakaro totalled 138 points to finish behind the home team which won comfortably on a sodden course still recovering from the recent storm. Other counting scores were Jack Denton and Pat Melville with 31 points each, while Bryan Ramsey with 26 and Rod Thomason with 25 struggled in the conditions.
After receiving the dreaded popgun for finishing last in the two previous rounds, captain Rod was delighted to hand it over to Nelson this time.
The next round is at Greenacres on April 5.
