IT'S TIME FOR ALL WOMEN, OF ALL AGES, TO GIVE GOLF A GO.

So we are inviting you and your partner to an open day at the Waahi Taakaro Golf Course on Sunday, October 29.

If you are already a member of our club, spread the word among your family, friends and work colleagues that they are all welcome.

It is part of the She Loves Golf campaign being run by NZ Golf this month to boost the number of women playing the game.

The campaign is backed by NZ’s champion golfer Lydia Ko and other celebrities, including Toni Street, Laura McGoldrick, Gemma McCaw, Jamie Curry, Matilda Rice and Daisy Dagg.

It aims to make golf fun by relaxing the rules around playing and what to wear on the course.

The free open day at Waahi Taakaro in the picturesque Maitai Valley runs from 10am to noon on the Sunday and is designed to give women a taste of the game. There will be an opportunity to use the putting and practice facilities, with club members on hand to give basic tips and information and to accompany them onto the course for a few holes. All equipment is provided and there will be a draw for a giveaway prize. There will also be a  complimentary drink in the clubhouse afterwards.

For those wanting to learn more about how to play golf there will be the chance to sign up for group coaching lessons at discounted rates.

To register or for more information contact Gordon Davidson at Waahi Taakaro Golf Club by emailing waahitaakaro@xtra.co.nz or ringing 5487771 or 5487301 or just turn up on the day.

See you there.
