Simplicity Funerals Golden Oldies results for 22/5/25

Waahi Taakaro proved too much of a challenge for almost all Golden Oldies golfers on Thursday.

Despite a sunny day, no-one got close to playing to their handicap as the lack of run, soft fairways and speedy greens made for high scoring in the par competition off the back nine.

The best of the bunch were Peter Watson and Paul McCrae who finished on -2, with Peter's score boosted by the only two of the day, on No 14.

John Dixon and Neil Howard shared third with -3. 

They were followed by a group of five comprising Richard Pearson, Bryan Ramsey, Chris Louth, Warren Green and Trevor Atkinson on -4.

Ray Hopgood rescued an otherwise forgettable day by hitting the hidden hole with a fine par four on the difficult No 18 across the river.

Next Thursday (May 29) the Golden Oldies play a net plus putts round off the front nine.
