Waahi Taakaro players excelled at the Halberg charity fundraising tournament held at the Fairhall course in Marlborough in bitter conditions on Friday (Oct 16).
Jarrod Huss won division one with 39 stableford points, a fantastic effort in the windy and cold conditions. Jarrod went round in a six-over 78 off the stick to help his team of Maurice Woodhouse, Richard Pearson and Mick Leggett win the overall team prize.
Maurice also scored 39 points to finished runner-up in division two, while Mick (36) and Richard (34) contributed strongly to a winning team total of 148, four better than the next team.
They will now go into a draw with the winners of competitions from other Eagles Society associations for the chance of playing in the NZ Golf Open.
Warren Carey, who was a member of Waahi Taakaro's second team, also featured in the prizes after coming in with 34 points.
Other Waahi Taakaro club members to take part were Ian Hanford, Graham Eggers, Grant Thorn and Dave Huntley who helped contribute to the annual tournament raising around $9000 for the Halberg Trust.
Well done lads.
