We have a winner!

Sam Ng reckons winning a Waahi Taakaro club membership is the encouragement he needs to work less and relax more.

``On being told I had won I had a bit of a chuckle as it means the universe is clearly trying to tell me to take more time out.’’

The 43-year-old – who recently moved to Nelson after a stint working overseas - last played golf regularly about six year ago and is looking forward to picking up his clubs again over summer.

``I love how relaxed Waahi Taakaro is and so close to town.’’

It will be a welcome break from his work which involves remotely managing digital innovation teams for the United Nations Development Programme, which is based in New York.

Sam’s name was drawn from the 44 people who entered the competition for a free 9-hole membership over summer. The annual competition is a joint initiative of the Nelson City Council and Waahi Taakaro Golf Club to encourage people to play the Maitai Valley course.
